I'm guessing nose wheel steering malfunc...

I've had that happen on my leg during a TO at about 65kts....not fun! Imagine flying your light twin and losing an engine...felt about the same.

No it definitely wasn't me. Just somebody I heard about. Overshot the TD zone, FO scared to use the brakes, etc... I am curious to find out what caused this.

Since we are going with blind speculation...

My guess is that after touchdown a pack of chupacabras ran out onto the runway. The FO, knowing how rare and special these creatures are, decided the ecologically sound thing was to sacrifice the plane and passengers safety to protect them.

No, but luckily the FO did.

It was a nose wheel steering issue.

I was told by an RJ CA/IP that the nose wheel steering failed causing them to run off the RWY when they attempted to make the high speed. Take it for what it’s worth.

So was the captain playing with the tiller in flight? Someone did that earlier this year and got stuck on 28 at ORD after landing. Tower was not amused.
