With this and the ASA disaster, I won't be surprised if SkW, Inc doesn't allow any non-pilot to touch a moving plane.

I don't think having pilot's moving this airplane would've changed the outcome of this. Clearly someone wasn't paying attention and moving at a high rate of speed to cause that kind of damage.

From one of our ORD MX,

The truck was doing in excess of 50mph and failed to give way - the maintenance folks didn't see him in time. The impact was so rough it sent the right-seater halfway into the left-seat, hitting the TL's on the way...

It was very dark too...

LOL, I'm glad to know we are not the only ones to get a measly .2 for taxi, even if it takes all day!

Gotta watch out for those airport ops vehicles. I'm more afraid of being hit by them than other vehicle traffic. I've seen those guys drive around SFO, LAX, and ORD like they were on a race course! The scariest time I ever had in an airplane was at LAX when one of those idiots almost hit me as I was making a turn while repositioning an airplane. They missed me by a couple of feet and weren't even using the vehicle lanes! I had to slam on the brakes so hard that if my FA was up, she would have definitely been hurt. It was just a matter of time. Thank God nobody was killed.

Exclamation

Looks pretty bad...
Notice the windshield wipers on the CRJ...
Do you think it was because they were in use when it happened or moved that much from the impact?
Anyone know what the WX was at the time?
