"The Pinnacle pilots want your flying"
#42
While on the recent Pinnacle/Colgan poll thread, I couldn't help but see this thread at the bottom in the "similar threads" section. That letter above has me LOLing! It's so classic and epic, considering the actual outcome on the merger, integration, and one list that we have today.
Here is more helpful information from Annie Moose:
Dear Colgan Pilots,
Many of you have asked , "Why, only now that the vote is approaching, do you tell us of the evils of unions?"
Last year, a few unruly children in the Colgan family tried to drive a wedge between you and your Management elders. They promised absurd things like better work rules, improved quality of life, and better pay. Being the wise children you are, you saw through the lies and turned your backs on union representation.
We, your management thought you had gotten all this foolishness out of your system. How wrong we were!
Imagine our surprise when we received the terrible news from the NMB that those unruly children, the flesh from our loins, were again trying to organize you. Those trouble makers think they can call you to arms in a coup d'etat which will lead to the ultimate destruction of the entire Colgan Family.
But we know that with your love of:
13 day trips (we allowed you 24 hours hours off somewhere in there),
Scheduled reduced rest periods (we only put them prior to your eight leg days),
And a pay scale that is older than most of you,
you will turn your backs on these rabble-rousers.
So don't vote! Let your unheard voice scream out, "Let my loving Management decide what is best for me!!"
Respectfully,
Annie Moose

The ironic thing that is kinda funny is that in this case, the memo by management was dead nuts accurate. That is because the Pinnacle merger committee did propose a staple for the entire Colgan group. So yeah, Colgan management was correct. It is comical and ironic, and one can better appreciate the memo afterwards.
