Expressjet: if you are a lineholder the bids come out in the first couple days of the month prior, bid closes somewhere around the 7th or 8th usually. we have an initial line improvement window which is 24 hrs to drop, trade, pickup flying and is only open to lineholders. The secondary bid which is for reserves, relief lines(people not senior enough to hold a hard line but more senior then most reserves) is posted around the middle of the month and closes around the 20-23 of the month. The secondary line improvement window opens around the 25th of the month and is open to everyone.

If you are a lineholder and dont want to trade you will know somewhere around the 7th or 8th of the month prior and if your reserve you will know around the 23-24. The line improvement windows are a free for all and can be done online. They can make or break your qol of life if your junior or if you screwed up your bid. I didnt realize we were that lucky to know so far in advance.
