You mean we should not trust our friend Buddy? Not to mention Harry? Once again the email I got a few minutes ago was talking about how much better it has gotten in the past year at Colgan. Why am I working more days and making less money this year than last? I am not inpressed with 9e management or 9l

Want to take the pleasure of flying our Saab in IAH on warm, sunny day?!?! First off, i'll say I LOVE IAH ... it's a truly great operation down there.. but honestly ... those planes can't cool worth $hit on the ground (unless you have both condition levers in MIN/MAX with both HPs in AUTO ... but that's PROHIBITED), and by the time you get done flying for the day, you feel like you've been in a sona sometimes, lol ... not quite sure how much pleasure there is in that, haha ...

Better in the last year?! Honestly?! I'm sure sure where they are getting their information. Sure, we have gotten a commuter policy, and home airport parking paid for up to a certain amount ... but then they go an implement that god forsaken sick policy (as was mentioned above) that just truly pi$$ed off just about every employee we have here...

I'm not saying ALPA or Teamsters are awesome choices ... but we NEEEEEED a contract

I flew the ERJ in and out IAH for 3 years. I rarely had problems being hot. Just ran the APU, it kept it cool almost always.

Nice thread guys. I wish you all good luck in the vote. Remember every vote counts.

Regarding Teamsters vs. ALPA, think about the entire subject of unity. Having two pilot unions under one company (Pinnacle Holdings) makes zero sense no matter how you look at it.... see TSA vs. gojet.

Once we are all on board with ALPA, we can work from the bottom up.... but we're only going to do it with unity. Doing each others job for less and less can come to a stop in the next few weeks if you just vote!

I don't think cho is as anti union as you think

There are several there that are diehard anti. The lead pilot posted on the bulletin every one of those anti-union letters sent out by mgmt. As far as I know there are only a couple who are definitely pro-ALPA... I'm not counting on all the others' votes.

yeah i saw those; but she also put up all the pro stuff to, which I think is fair. I think most of the fo's maybe with one exception will vote for it, and i def know of one capt who is totally agaisnt it. but i think the union will get the majority of the cho vote

So in summary, do you feel management is here for you? They will tell you they are, but have they showed you? At Colgan the general thought is, and will remain with out a change, you are lucky we gave you a job. This is true in respect to the economy we are in today, but in no way should be a factor in making decisions based on crew qol. They have ruled by fear long enough! The inconsistent, poor communication must stop!

I realize you may have arguements against a Union, but please weigh your options and make a progressive and informed choice. Do not let dues be your easy way out, do not let management's comical anti-union letters be your excuse. Do not succumb to scare tactics of those opposing your right for a better future, do not hinge your decision on the length of time you plan to spend at Colgan. True, you may not ever see this contract, but you would have if the uninformed pilots with the same attitude last year would have voted. I agree, you are doing this for you, but you need to understand the positive effect you can have on the rest of the industry and the pilots who come after you.

Right before I quit, this is exactly what Brink told me, "You are lucky to have a job with a reputable airline like Colgan; however, your actions are not going to allow you to upgrade. Additionally, you only have a job here because the FAA requires, until you upgrade, just sit in your seat and keep your mouth shut." I'm still trying to figure out why the SAAB is a 2 man crew certified airplane. A little legal representation would have been oh so nice. VOTE ALPA!!

What a joke the schedules are for December.

I love how the company gives a week of standups in order to lower the credit per line. Take a 90 hour line, replace a week of it with a week of standups and watch it become a 74 hour line.

I also love these days with one flight on it. It is really worth going into work to fly 1 leg for 1.1 credit...wow $20 net for the day...I could make more with a lemonade stand.

Anyone who is ok with this type of treatment is a moron. How can all these anti union guys be ok with this type of stuff...how!!
