There is an SIC type in the 1900, but it sounds like Lakes doesn't need it (flying N or S of the border).

So what kind of rating do you get when you complete your training at Lakes?

Nothing. There is no SIC rating.

all those at lakes...

Do you like working there other than the crappy pay?

Is it worth not being paid during training? And how do you survive?

Honestly? I love my job at Lakes. The Beech is a blast to fly and the pilot group is top notch -well 90% of them. The company sucks and so does the pay but it's not as bad as some would want you to believe. 16 bucks an hour vs 21 bucks an hour really isn't that much more money. You're still getting crappy FO pay. Plus, we have several TDY lines that pay an extra 5 grand a year -MKE and ABQ. I also worked for the company before getting hired as a pilot so I was paid during training.

Our union contract is done in March so hopefully good things will result from getting a new one. We won't settle for anything less.

The 15 month training contract sucked at first, but the 15 month goes by fast. Heck, in 15 months you could get hired by Lakes, upgrade and get your 1000 PIC.

The contract isn't up till September. Negotiations should start in April.
