ASA Overstaffed
#63
If they can get 200 pilots to take COMA each month, I am sure that they would do it. Make em come back every three months to stay current. It is a lot cheaper than a furlough. Sometimes, it is just easier to furlough and cut the carrying costs. Especially, if DAL is renegotiating their reimbursement structure.

Just an observation. ASA has 1731 active pilots bases on APC with 149 airplanes. Even if the 10 airplanes arrive, that is still way overstaffed, and who knows what might happen by June 09. That seems so distant especially with the current state of the industry. My furlough company is currently operating with more airplanes than active pilots! How a company still has kept pilots that require sim sessions to stay current is beyond me.

I like to tell the new FOs that the best way to make friends with Beal is to hurry out to the airplane, complete the safety check, get everything warmed up and ready, program the FMS and ACARS... then put a Diet Coke in his cup holder and a seat belt extender neatly folded on his seat. He really likes that.
