:eek:Re: the unopened can.... be careful with that as well. I had a FA brag that she shook up the can because the FO was being annoying to both her and the CA. So when he opened it it sprayed all over his uniform.

Ever watched a 5'2" 95 pound FA try to open the main cabin door on the CRJ from the ground? I'm 5'7" and it's a pain in the ass to get the leverage with your hand stretched above your head. It would be immensely tougher if I were 5" shorter and 40 pounds lighter. We've got some FAs that could probably hang from the door handle without the door budging.

As long as they can open the door from the inside then they can do their job. If they are outside the aircraft then there isn't anyone onboard for them to evacuate.

If an FA rudely tries to pull a seniority attitude with you, tactfully remind them that you like your sprite with ice. But if they are true professionals, then by all means help them whenever you have the chance.

Wow... I don't know about anyone else but I've had many (many) FAs smarter then my FO and me hands down! They have many reasons why they chose their proffesion.....
I like to see who runs up to the front desk to fill stuff out. I always let the FA decide the room first (unless male) and if FO is female then she gets to decied ... I'll take the last room left... If they don't mind filling it out for others than all good! Lives to short to sweat the small stuff... I also buy a meal at least once a month for all my crew and a night of drinks!!
I've had some great captains on my way up and bottom line is when you make Capt pass it on...!

Despite your eloquent reasoning I find it hard to believe.

Its amazing some of you are paid to operate heavy machinery with living people inside.

Honestly, my comment was not intended to be cruel or mean. Quite simply, everyone has their place and a certain job to do. I always do my best to be courteous and respectful of everyone. However, when people try to get out of line and pretend to be something that they are not, then reality might need to be delivered crisply.

I would be careful with this. A flight attendant I was chatting with was proud for slipping eye drops into a drink he gave to a captain he disliked (on another trip I wasn't part of).

The captain ended up calling in sick on that trip.

By the way, I thought this was crap and told him so.

That's not cool at all. I think that's something along the lines of a felony, if the cat isn't lying...definitely already violates the regs alone. I can't tell you how I'd handle that if I was on the receiving end.
