Angry You know what small thing sets me off. How about you..?

Don't know why this ****es me off so much lately! As an FO I understand there are many things that come with the job. One of them, is filling out the crew info on the way to the hotel in the van. This is of course after I have helped the F/A's cross seat-belts and called for the van to pick us all up (by choice). Now, I have never once minded doing any of this for everyone, as for the hotel log, it takes no time to complete and is easy to do! I'll usually write the van time on everyone's card and the room #'s for the captain just as a courtesy. What ****es me of though, is after helping everyone else out, when the log is passed back the flight attendants will roll their eyes and give it to me with the "I'm above doing that, let our FO b_tch" do it attitude! Once again, it's not the task of doing it, it's the freaking attitude! Now, I do fly with a load of good crews where this is never an issue and we all help each other out, lately though I seem to get the lazy-_ss do nothings. Sorry for the rant and I'm probably bit_ching about something I should be used to by now, but can't help it. By the way, if you happen to hear on the news tomorrow that a pilot has assualted a F/A by crossing a hotel clipboard across their head, that'll be me...cheers

Sounds like you are letting yourself get crapped on.

-I never fill out anyone else on the hotel log, unless I decide I want to...usually not.

-I do not help FA's with belts unless we are behind schedule.

Show me where in your duties does it say seatbelts and hotel logs? The most I will do is loan my pen to the FA because they never ever have one. When was the last time a FA came up front and did your job to help you out?

You will always be treated at the "FO b_tch" as long as you let them

Wow. If that's the worst thing that happens to you during a trip then lucky you! Sounds like either through tradition or convention, the b!tch work of filling out the hotel sheet has fallen to the lowly FO at whatever company you work for. Seems odd to me. Where I'm at, whoever gets it first usually fills it out or we just rotate (3 crewmembers...3 nights on a overnight. Seems like a fair division of duties).

If the attitude of the FAs/CA bothers you that much and you wanna be a stinker about it, put down a 3am wakeup call for the offending party (only works if you have a later van ).

Is this custom at most airlines, at the two I have been at we just passed around the clipboard and filled it out on our own. I guess for a few reasons, sometimes we could pick the rooms we wanted and other big one is when you want a wake-up call.

How about FA's that refuse to open the cabin door, even though they arrive at the aircraft first? That kinda bugged me...if you can't do your job (opening the door would qualify as part of their job), then why are you here?

Do not let yourself get walked on. I had an FA tell me(not ask) I needed to carry her bag up the stairs. I told her I had a sore back and couldn't do it. She looked miffed when she saw me helping the rampie with the pink tags after a flight.

In my experience so far it has always been whoever is closest to the clip-board or whoever grabs it first.
