As long as they can open the door from the inside then they can do their job. If they are outside the aircraft then there isn't anyone onboard for them to evacuate.

Seriously, no disrespect to any FAs on this board that are training to be pilots, but uh... Even "senior" flight attendants do not have the education, experience, and level of responsibility that the FO has. Why would anyone let those roles get confused? If an FA rudely tries to pull a seniority attitude with you, tactfully remind them that you like your sprite with ice. But if they are true professionals, then by all means help them whenever you have the chance.
I like to see who runs up to the front desk to fill stuff out. I always let the FA decide the room first (unless male) and if FO is female then she gets to decied ... I'll take the last room left... If they don't mind filling it out for others than all good! Lives to short to sweat the small stuff... I also buy a meal at least once a month for all my crew and a night of drinks!!
I've had some great captains on my way up and bottom line is when you make Capt pass it on...!

Wow... I don't know about anyone else but I've had many (many) FAs smarter then my FO and me hands down! They have many reasons why they chose their proffesion.....

The captain ended up calling in sick on that trip.
By the way, I thought this was crap and told him so.

I would be careful with this. A flight attendant I was chatting with was proud for slipping eye drops into a drink he gave to a captain he disliked (on another trip I wasn't part of).

Re: the unopened can.... be careful with that as well. I had a FA brag that she shook up the can because the FO was being annoying to both her and the CA. So when he opened it it sprayed all over his uniform.
