I wouldn't worry about it until you know its going to happen for sure. I doubt even management has a clue what is going on - until it happens...or moments before. Always lots of rumors going around, mostly untrue.

For example - the rumor in training was we were getting brand spankin' new ATR-72-600s with full glass and autoland, soon. Still don't see them yet.

I've learned to ignore the scuttlebutt. I think some people get a kick out of starting rumors to cause concern.

Displaced to LGA (and happy about it!)

What a wild ride this year has been so far.

Lots of quality couch time, bring a good book! Even with this round of displacements that just occurred I think we will still be short in NYC. If you are super junior in LGA/JFK I would plan on it being that way until hiring resumes. If there are more displacements it will be to force pilots to JFK/LGA.

BOS guys taking ORD? I beleive most will take JFK or LGA. The commute is so much easier. A shuttle leaving every 30 min between BOS and LGA. The guys from Portland ME will probably take ORD.

The displacements have already been awarded and there was a large number of BOS CA/FOs that are going to ORD, I dont have the exact #s but I would say 30-40%. The hotels are cheap in ORD (40-50/night if you get stuck) tons of commutable lines, more variety of flying, etc. NYC is closer, but the commute isnt always easier to JFK. LGA would be great if the lines are commutable, but it is rumored to be a lot of daytrips, 2days in the future.

This is what I have been hearing. BOS pilots would rather be based in ORD then be involved in the mess in JFK/LGA.

It depends on where they live. When I was hired we did not have a choice for a base and I got LGA. I had a blast doing both flying in LGA and JFK. It will be DFW FO’s that will be displaced and its 25 not 50. If you do need a place look at crashpads.com the one I was in had hot Chautauqua flight attendants it will be a nice change of pace from those eagle beasts your use too.

I think you will be just fine at ORD but if you do get displaced. It won’t be more than 6 months so have fun with it!
