There is someone going to upgrade right now that was in the Sept. Initial class. I believe they had 1900 time prior though.

Not sure if yall know, but Great Lakes has a forum if your questions do not get answered here. Great bunch of guys who are more than happy to answer questions:

Its not that DEN is junior, it is simply that there are a total of 10 lines in STL, MKE, and BIL. Obviously that is 20 pilots, out of 300, so there are bound to be people who want those lines. So saying DEN is junior is a little inaccurate.

thanks tdor for all the input. MKE is where I want to go eventually because I live in N. Illinois so im trying to figure it all out. Especially if I were to upgrade in 5-6 mo how soon it could be to be a capt in mke. I know thats a long way from now and probably anyones guess. I just wanted to make an educated move here.

I wouldn't plan on anything long term, as in a few months. Plan for the worse. TDYs are very desirable for places like Great Lakes because housing is paid and generally you also have a schedule. You stay busy flying, and have free housing, perfect since you're getting paid so very little anyways. If you're going to Great Lakes because you might be an upgrade at a MKE TDY in a few months, then you're obviously going there for the wrong reason. It's a good thing lakes has only one base because generally EAS and prop airlines are outstation based, that's probably the only thing going for lakes. Nothing like being displaced to a hole in the wall place every two months...

Kind of nice things to know before applying somewhere huh? I guess in this market you wouldn't have the luxury of choosing where to go so why bother researching...
