Nothing the matter with that. Let the government pay. I did it. But why pay big $ to some "pay till you get what you want" pilot mill You have miltiary time. Stay in and become an officer, go to flight school, be it Air Force, Navy, Jarheads, or Coasties. Get your 20 and go from there.

those places dont offer degrees, so if you need one, embryriddle is the best bet.

If you go active duty, you could assigned either fixed or rotors. You will have little if any choice in the matter. Navy/marines are stuck in rotors for life, I think the air force is flexible and will allow you transfer to transports from helos.

Air national Guard is the way to go, cuz you join a specific unit BEFORE flight school, which means you know what type of aircraft you will fly. Anything fixed-wing is great.
