Default Another Eagle Displacement Bid

It seems like displacement bids are like monthly bidding...monthly.

Anyways with 9 DFW ATR and 2 MIA ATR vacancies for FOs and 18 ORD EMJ displacements I'm wondering if I'll hold my LGA EMJ FO spot or if I might get the ATR?

I'm ridiculously junior and I am wondering everytime we have these bids, will this be the one that sends me to the ATR?

Also I wonder with all 18 FOs essentially coming to New York, if it will solve the staffing problem and alleviate the need to hire?

andddd...ATR guys in DFW...how many guys on reserve if any? And how much flying is there?

Hey buddy, you got a problem with the ATR??

I haven't been in DFW for a while, but while I was there they had about 1 person on reserve per day. There was enough flying at that time to give everybody a line except the unlucky reserve dude. I don't know how much that is changing with the Saab people coming online now.

I hope you hold your spot. Things have not been normal since I was hired. Its a little bit crazy to see displacement bids nearly every month!

Since I've never been an airline pilot, are there so many displacements going on at eagle because some bases are fat and others lean on pilots? Or is it that Eagle is short pilots and actually needs to redistribute pilots so bases can be evenly stocked with reserve guys/gals.

How many people are leaving Eagle a month now?

I wouldn't mind flying the ATR at all...I just don't want to commute to Dallas from New Hampshire. It's a long drive. I'm sure I'd be that one reserve guy but if they kept me busy flying I wouldn't mind at all. Things have been slow on the jet but then again it's slow everywhere.

I figured I've been spoiled with the jet for a year with AC and heat. A summer in the ATR in Texas? It can't be that hot.

After the last "pilot staffing" meeting the union reps had I think the number was 10-12. I don't know if that was in previous months and/or whether it is still consistent.

I knew a few guys who left a few months back but they had their old jobs waiting for them. I had another friend who was going to leave but thought better of it when he looked into the job market.

I think the company will be reluctant to hold a new hire class until everyone is out of long term training from the Saabs etc. and they can get a decent idea of the staffing needs. This will probably be in time for the summer hence the summer hiring rumors. Any hiring will obviously be limited and for the sole purpose of having warm bodies to satisfy the staffing number requirements.

Yeah that's what I've been thinking. I didn't know the saab pilots were still in training though. Guess that answers all my questions. Sounds like you'll be decently staffed once everyone off the saab gets back into whatever equipment they've displaced to.

According to the company seniority list that came out in Jan 09, I have moved up 9 numbers in 6 months. 10-12 per month is not realistic im afraid.

I want to fly the ATR in Dallas!! I am just curious, do most trips in the ATR end back up in Dallas or are there overnights just like the jet? May sound like a stupid question but I really have no idea.

My seniority number moved up 17 a few days ago. Since being hired in March about 75 so that makes it... about 7. Of course this does not take into account the leave of absences that were given out.

I considred putting a preference for the ATR in DFW but then realized the loss in pay that would result.

Just have both NFE and JFE in you 3* and you should be fine.
