AA used to fly DFW-IAD-DCA in a 727 before the distance restrictions at DCA were lifted.

I use to fly CVG-DAY and CVG-IIU. We'd call while still on the ground to let them know we were about to be in range.

Quickest ever was back in my freight hauling days. We'd do MMCU-KELP. 7 miles. We'd leave the gear and flaps down in both the Falcon and Lears.
If it wasnt for the border crossing, it would be much faster to drive.

Up until around 2004 or so, Hawaiian used to run a 717 between LNY and MKK...a distance of 27 miles.

Back in the 1990s, Delta and TWA used to have flights between MIA and FLL....a distance of 21 miles. In fact, Delta even used 757s and 767s on it (continuation from ATL).

Even further back, in the '70s or '80s, United flew 727s from SFO to OAK...a distance of 11 miles.

PacWings currently has one or two daily roundtrips between MKK and LUP (the cargo carrier I fly for also does a MKK-LUP run every morning)...a distance of 9 miles.

Wow - here's something you don't see very often....

Pilots bragging about having the smallest (shortest) thing...

Because the Delta station at SDF could hear you on the ground in CVG, right...

I think we did that in 11 minutes one day at AWAC, and it would have been 10 if we could have departed 35...
