Exclamation it is bad if your one of the 80. Einstein!

Obviously, you haven't been furloughed before!

I'm sitting on the street right now making $12 an hour flight instructing. I don't think we are as bad off as Comair. That might change next year if we can't find a home for at least 10 of the -200s

Sure would be nice to have my job back. . .

Especially after I get word that Skywest is far more overstaffed than 80 pilots and they haven't dropped the furlough word - yet.

What a mess.

Just curious, do you know this for a fact or did you just read this on a message board?

The only way ASA could receive more 900's (under current scope) is if they are taken from another carrier (much like the ones received were slated for Mesaba). This could probably go both ways and ASA lose 900's too. Smarter people feel free to correct.

ASA 900s are under contract. Not going anywhere unless we have a Mesa-like freefall. If there's any more 900 flip flopping will most likely involve Comair's 900s. (They already lost one to Mesaba)

What are the contract terms for them? I don't remember hearing any numbers other than the 20 200's gone next spring.

All I heard was the 2-1 swap too. I think that'll probably be enough to keep them with us since I doubt anyone would offer a 3-1 swap (JO might, lol). I would hope that if Big D tried to take the -900s back next year we would get all the -200s back in service. We should have some kind of protection because we are really selling ourselves here to help them out. Weather we do or not I don't know, but I hope we do.

I really hope we can find a home for at least 10 of the -200s because then we will have the same net number of aircraft. It would be nice if we could find a home for all 20 because then we would need about 100 extra pilots to staff the 10 additional aircraft in the fleet.

In this economy I doubt we'll find a home for any of them, which will mean we will be overstaffed by 100 more pilots. That'll probably mean more furloughs.

At least next year it'll be a whole new economy!

Na, it would mean we're finally properly staffed

You're right, its highly unlikely we will find a new home for the 200s unless one thing happens. As bad as it sounds, our only hope is to have another regional airline fail and we take over with our extra planes. Best and only case scenario.
