Is it JFK or LGA where you have to go outside security of you're deadheading or getting food or anything?

Have to be written up, but wouldn't hurt anybody to leave it broke. Blame the FAA not the crew. They were doing what was necessary to stay out of trouble.

Well said. Anyone who complains about write-ups probably isn't the one who's ticket is at risk.

Sorry to hear your airline is furloughing. Will there be more or is this it?

Captain soon to be FO Alpha3? He is pretty good at checking every pax seat recliner to make sure they work. Go post this on EagleLounge as well....

That would depend upon how cute, and how single you are..... :)

I would think that with the walk from the gate to the street being 100 times shorter than the one at JFK; that LGA would be the more "comfortable" to be at. Depends were you will be commuting from too. I'm pretty sure LGA shutts down around 930pm or so... Haven't worked there in a long while, but when I did I remember it shutting down fairly early. Anyway, pick the base with the easiest, and most choices for commuting, then go with the comfort factor.

Safety, Passenger Comfort, On time departure. Sound familiar? I take it you are against delaying a flight for the first two. You are right, post this on the Eaglelounge.

If you really stand by your own words, you should also post it on the ALPA message board so we can all see who's hiding behind the mask.

*warning* slight thread drift:

In a perfect world that would be the best course - however - alpa's communication dept. is much better telling membership how awesome their platform is than providing IT resources to meet the needs of the membership.

There is a reason boards like this one are used by alpa pilots, and a reason that some of the most recent posts on the alpa board are several years old.

*thread drift over*

It hurt didn't Alpa boy?

kfour 04-03-2009 09:50 PM

Actually the new ALPA eagle website forums are pretty well done...much better than they were last May. There has been some activity over there recently.

RJ Pilot 04-06-2009 01:06 PM

Eagle increasing SJU flying starting May 1. There you have it. ATR's gone from DFW.

Do enjoy trying to stir up the pot with unsubstantiated rumors? I would like to know your source.

American Eagle adds flights out of Puerto Rico - Forbes.com

There you have it. Keep writing up window shades!

It says nothing about moving aircraft. They cut SJU to 33 daily departures last fall. An additional 109 weekly is only 15 per day. I doubt they are pulling all the ATRs out of DFW. I'll buy it when I see something from management regarding pulling the plane from DFW. Just for future reference I don't write up window shades. :D

wow...good read...interesting spin on the current situation...

Flyby1206 04-07-2009 10:58 AM

Lots of name calling and ideas that are a pipe dream in my opinion. Transfer flowthrough pilots to AA now? And they become furloughed immediately?? Good luck finding a current AE CA with an AA seniority # that would like to go on furlough tomorrow in order to be recalled to AA in 2-3-5 years. Am I misunderstanding aepa's concept?

Negotiating a no-furlough clause in our past amendment round? What amazing concession did we give the company where they would have agreed to a no-furlough clause? I understand we have changed some small scheduling practices, and line guarantee maximums, but I havent seen any lines over 80hrs in the recent months.

eaglefly 04-07-2009 11:31 AM

Actually, if they were to transfer the top 75 flowthru pilots now, the most junior of them would still have perhaps 1000 AA pilots junior to them actually flying, so no they wouldn't be IMMEADIATE furlough fodder (my numbers are approximate).

There have been plenty of 80-90 hour lines recently, but they've been the minority (perhaps 35%).

This information source has as much truth as not and highlights a disturbing belief that the current leadership is no better then ones past that did our pilots little good.

As I recall having read somewhere, he was one of the MEC members, or part of the bargaining team, back when that 16 year contract was written...

When he got booted out of office, he has spent the remainder of his life thus far complaining about the very contract he stuck you all with...

Actually no. He was not a part of the negotiators of the 16-year agreement and was not at any of the roadshows promoting it (ALPA national WAS !). Other crooks orchestrated that.

Hopefully, that's a good thing. This may not happen. Key word though..."may"!

JT8D 04-09-2009 08:01 AM

If only it were so... the displacement bid's out, the letters are now out, it's gonna happen unfortunately

Oh, misinformed I have been. I was under the impression he was in some type of leadership position when that all went down.
Thanks for the correction.

Say hi to PB and his cronies for me while you're there! Maybe give em a book on the numerous efficiency-related benefits of keeping a positively motivated workforce... as it is they have absolutely no clue.

That means they are short of pilots.
Furloughs= TDY's

I know I don't have the big picture but why are they TDYing people to DFE. Not a single DFE is getting furloughed and 4 of them are going to get displaced. DFE also seems well staffed since they dead head FOs out to LA to do trips out there. So far this month there have also been reserves available at the end of each day.

AmericanEagleFO 04-17-2009 02:07 PM

Looks like the prelims are out today. I'm safe from another one. How did everybody else fair?

FOblondie 04-17-2009 11:52 PM

Get to stay where I am, thank goodness! But to think, at only this time last year I had a line and now I'm just a few from the bottom of the reserve list. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
