Don't forget that once the merger happened, there was no longer such a thing as a NWA route. Delta wants decently efficient schedules as well, they'd prefer the airplanes to be flying revenue, not parked or ferried.

I would certainly hope that a regional airline's management would at least have some original thoughs and ideas regarding the operation of "their" airline. But, I am absolutely of the opinion that if Delta decides NOT to act on the ideas given by regional management, that they (DCI mgmt) has no choice but to go with what they're told to do.

Now if we're talking in house ops, policies and procedures..that's a different story. But in terms of "strategy", routes and fleet (barring contractual obligations) I think that's all under Delta's roof.

**Looking at what is being done at Comair, contractual fleet obligations also mean nothing, they'll find a way around it. :-\

Oh, and Comair has also been a wholly owned Delta sub. a lot longer than Mesaba has, maybe a crystal ball.. I sure hope not, but all i'm doing is warning.

First off, you are making too big of a deal by stating middle of the road hypotheticals on DCI relations and partnerships. I don't doubt that your time at Comair has less then stellar. However, your experiences do NOT allow you to dictate, with any relevance, DCI direction as if it were gospel on some other airline, or their employees, that you do not even work for or with.

You took the fact that Mesaba was granted options or opportunities that were available and completely misconstrued it as if I said Mesaba was dictorial towards DCI. We all know that is not how this relationship works so what was the point? I simply said that they did not want JFK. What do you care the reason as why they didn't want it? I didn't ask for the rationale or see the "game plan".

It could have been the opportunity wasn't right, the reasoning didn't fit the current plan.....who knows? But for the love of God, please quit trying to fight every little thing, or making a mountain from a mole hill, that doesn't make sense TO YOU simply because you are not in the room when things are said and that makes you mad.

Sometimes you need to LISTEN too.

My last post on this topic. I'm happy that we are not in JFK as of now as it sounds like a lot of lost time and frustration.
