I'm thrilled that GS is gone. However this adds at least another year until our new contract goes through. Its nice that you current captains care, but respectfully, you won't be here when this new TA matters. I'm a junior FO and this will hurt me far more than you. Awesome, another year of ****ty +3 year FO pay. FML...

Check your history. HD was not a CA at RAH. He was an FO who left to go to the GA side of the industry. IIRC he was previously employed at Eagle prior to his military service.
If you think that current CA's won't be here in 3-4 years, think again. Come inside to talk and there are plenty of people who understand or are beginning to understand that the RAH seniority list is stabilizing and many will be around a lot longer than they originally planned.
While I understand your anxiousness to get a new TA but, the effective enforcement component is everything at our company.

No. If you don't pay dues then you don't get representation. If RAH pays millions and you guys pay thousands then I expect the allocation of resources to be as such.

No.
I applied because, in 2006, I lived 10 minutes from HDQ in Indy and commuting to ORF and then PHL sucked horribly beyond belief; I was newly married and spent maybe 6-10 nights per month in my own bed. Sitting reserve on my couch and being able to drive to work would have improved my QOL immeasurably vs. a pain in the ass commute to the east coast.
THAT is why I applied, not a fast upgrade.

I did. I upgraded, flew for a year and a half as PIC to get over 1000 hours, then quit to move on to a legacy. It worked out as planned. I used it as the stepping stone that it is.

The problem is that path is not available for current FOs and newhires with the current state of the industry. Regardless of contract-carrier issues every seat at that airline should be able to pay a living wage.

Well good for you. I would imagine the rest of us with different circumstances are just dumb then.

Sorry. I said that last post in good fun. After re-reading it, it made me sound a little conceited and arrogant. I could not do what I did in today's environment. My career path was a result of good-timing.

Any delay in the negotiations will be a little bump in the road. I would rather have the current contract effectively enforced than have a new and improved one that is not. Will the new leadership understand this? Dunno. We just have to wait and see. But I know one thing for sure: as far as contract enforcement is concerned, there is nowhere to go but up.
