airlines are run by business people who look at costs and revenues and try to make money for their shareholders
crew costs are just that a cost just like ramp costs are a cost
maybe the captains should give up a portion of their wages and share with the crew thus keeping the business expense the same

all I know is that pay needs to go up! If I was working 40 hours a week on the ramp for Delta in ATL I would be making more then 1st year pay before I was furloughed from ASA. That is just wrong and the guys I work with now are amazed at that fact.
