Default Colgan to Expressjet

Ok I have been trying to get on with XJT for along time got rejected twice my "time" was too low for them to even offer me an interview I have 1400 total and like 450 multi 300 is Turbine on a SAAB anybody know when they are going to cut off hiring? I havent reapplied yet, with 121 experience, planning to reapply in a month or so. Looks like they are back to hiring CFI's with the mins of 600 and 100 so hopefully I would get an interview if anybody recently applied or just had an interview respond if ya wouldnt mind with your experience! thanks (and for those of you that recommend staying for PIC Turbine the QOL isnt the greatest I have been on reserve since Januray finally got a line which is somewhat rediculous considering its Colgan not Eagle, pay is awfully even if you do upgrade

sorry dude, i dont have any advice for you, but i just wanted to let you know your not the only one at colgan up in the air with things. i got hired in june last year and have been thinking of leaving every since i got here. i would suggest however to stay at least your year. if not for the sake of the contract but for looking like an honest person in the future. again im not siding with colgan, because no matter what anyother colganite that sticks up for this company says, we deserve a lot better than 23 dollars an hour after your 1st year. to think that the CEO is the senator of VIRGINIA to, thats what really takes the cake.

hopefully things will get better here, take care

Yeah the leaving before a year bothers me but pressuring us to fly broken airplanes does'nt sit right with me, I am at a mx base and i get the honor of "test flying" airplanes that come out of heavy checks and lets see been here for 6 months have had 2 air returns and 2 aborted takeoffs, Id rather seem dishonest then having my ticket yanked or end up bending an airplane!

On the latest bid packet it said that express added an additional new hire class in May and more upgrades for the rest of the year with a new bid coming out in August. I expect that we will continue hiring for the rest of the year. Now that we are keeping the airplanes we will need more pilots since we are short staffed right now.
On the application there is a special link for 121 guys to fill out.

I recently spoke with a former Colgan guy that is at express now and he says he has no regrets about leaving Colgan and was also set to upgrade there. Now he is upgrading at Express. He had enough of flying broken airplanes and being forced to do illegal things at Colgan.

You will have to decide for yourself if it is worth leaving or not. Express is a nice place to work with lots of good people and a nice operation. We have a lot of nice quality of life things in our contract. Upgrade is two years right now and new bases will be coming next year.

Good luck.

read my post again, 23dollars is second year pay, which is what i said after your first year.

in regards to being based in albany, im sorry i dont know what its like im based at a better place to get time. i understand about not wanting to lose your ticket, but just cover your ass. ****s always falling of the saab and maintence comes out with duck tape, a screw driver, and a pen, then your good to go. on the flip side, i think colgan might be gearing up for more airplanes.

hahaha how did ya know I was based in Albany, hahah yeah I have a lot of buddies at Expressjet and they are in love with it, well all except for one he still wishes he was flying the beech for commutair but out of Newark, per diem, not filling out your own pay sheets, newer airplanes better pay, hopefully prettier F/A's haha. I will say the guys I fly with up in ALB are awesome awesome guys and I do love the SAAB but XJT was my first choice and now that I hopefully have the experience to get an interview I gotta give it a go, well see I still havent applied and i know they won't be hiring forever
