If say Mesa introduced the RJ 1000 tomorrow would you still be up in arms? Or thats ok because it still LOOKS like an RJ.
Because NWA/DAL/(insert Major here) did not trade in 75% of it's pilots for poorly paid regional ones <---- That is the biggest difference.

75% of an airline got laid of for this, THIS IS THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE, not looks.

Want me to say it a third time?

Tim Hoeksema maybe the antichrist, but I really hope he screws RAH over like he did us. Then the Chinese Ornstein, Ching Ming 15 Motorcycle Man, will come in and with his $8 FO's take over your flying and 75% of your pilots end up on the street. Then the $8 FO will go, "what is wrong? it is our management, not us." They then come on a messageboard like this in droves and say, "I don't see what's wrong? Everyone else is doing it?"
-or-
This winter some 170 CA will land in a blinding snowstorm, lose sight of the runway at 10', and still land the airplane skidding off the end. No doubt tired from the crappy schedules his regional forces on him, perhaps he has to sleep in the aisle for his next flight after his redeye. Or perhaps, tired, they'll stall an airplane while landing because his regional airline was too cheap to provide him with a stick pusher scenario in a simulator.

A lot of big words and hate. What's your name? How much do you actually stand behind your statements?

Hate? I call them facts. I'll stand behind them.

There isn't a regional that landed a 170 in CLE losing sight of the runway?
There isn't a regional with camping trips?
Foreign companies aren't interested in coming in here and taking away our labor with their cheaper labor?
The NTSB didn't have a hearing where the company admitted it didn't provide stick pusher training ?
Tim Hoeksema = antichrist? Ask any other MEH pilot on here.

Don't take my "big words and hate", how about one of the heros of the Hudson, Jeff Skiles in his op-ed piece who said the same thing? He said: "American air travelers deserve experienced, qualified professionals at the controls of their next flight."

It's ok, we know how you value yourself by your defense of what you're company is doing.

Let me guess... the senior guys run the union and the junior guys think they will upgrade in 1-2 years.

Wow have you crossed the line here. As far as accidents, there are plenty of majors (including your own) without perfect records. No one here can fault you for being frustrated, angry, resentful, etc. You guys are in a terrible situation and I sincerely wish that things were different. But please refrain from the potshots (especially to the deceased). It really does no good and makes you look immature.

Perhaps if you spent more time communicating ways we can work together (aside from illegal job actions and quitting), something positive can come from this. As far as I know, our two unions have had minimal contact since the YX-RAH 170 deal was announced. Our union has a lot on its plate (99-100 seat pay rates, grievances, negotiating a new CBA), but if an olive branch were extended they would not ignore you guys. All I read in these threads are negative remarks concerning a hardworking pilot group that is fighting for a better situation. So to end my rambling, I'd appreciate realistic suggestions from you as to how to counter our collective dillema. That would be much more constructive than bringing up accident history and insulting the dead.

So quoting the NTSB and Colgan is a "potshot" now? Colgan said in a statement:

....A stick pusher demonstration in an aircraft simulator is not required by the FAA and was not part of the training syllabus used in the training provided by the aircraft manufacturer through one of the world's leading aviation training companies, and thus was not included in Colgan's Q400 training program.

or maybe we will just take off one day up at mke in our nice shiny new 190's and have an engine failure and not follow the checklist and plant one into the end of the runway.

BEARZ if you were still working you would be contributing to the death of the midwest with your wonderful attitude.

Wow. You sound like an old, crusty, salty ole' timer that would be a challenge at best to complete a 4 day with. You probably complain your ass of about EVERYTHING from the time you release the parking brake. I hope you don't speak for you entire pilot group. If so, good riddins'. You belong on the street.

Its not my fault i cant see the big picture"
