Its all going to hinge on how many captains are going to move on when hiring starts again. Unless you have as many staying as Eagle or Horizon you should be ok.

xjt is right there behind you. Probably going to be a 5-6 yr upgrade for most.
I think it will be quite a bit longer than that for most.

A mid 2007 hire is now 100 from the bottom after two full years already. That's two years, and 1000+ numbers from EWR CA on reserve. Or, a late 2007 hire who is furloughed and no recall until they are probably four years past their hire date.

There is no upgrade at Eagle right now. ZERO! We're back up to 9-10 years plus.

I don't know of any regional that is upgrading right now beside Great Lakes. I believe every regional FO should brace for Eagle like upgrades due to Age 65.

Most airlines increase line credit in the summer. What it does it keeps the amount of reserves fat for the fact that we all have a lot of weather induced IROPS. They need those reserves to keep the op going and get it back on track when people start timing out. That is why they do it.

Here on the 767 at DAL we dropped 50 lines one month to the next. The average line went from 72 hrs to 82 hrs. What it did was give them more reserves to cover the system with. There is reason for the madness.

At least your all holding some kinda line... I'm still wondering how bad this "reduction" if flying come Sept. is going to be. Wondering if recall in the 1st Q is a slim shot.

When SH was queried about additional furloughs this fall, he said they were not discussing that option yet, but that those of us at the bottom should spend wisely this summer. He implied that a lot is riding on placing the 20 50-seaters, but we're speculating that there will be a furlough before the company makes any serious negotiations on PBS. If that happens, recall by 1Q 11 may be a slim shot.

You never know though!
