im gonna have to agree with gtech. yes brad did a good job turning the company around. but, like gtech said, we've furloughed for the first time, our schedules and quality of life are worse now than in the LePrick days, we're shrinking, and wasnt last quarter the first time we have lost money in a while. im not saying all these things are brad's fault by any means but it does raise the question of why almost every asa pilot thinks brad is a savior.

alright. in my infinite wisdom i predict that there will be no more furloughs in 2009. they will wait until they realize that mesa is NOT going completely out of business (yes their delta future does not look good, but i dont think any other dci will gain because of it) thus ending their 'plan' for the 20 200's. i would expect more furloughs after that. not sure how many. i really hope im wrong and i hope they do have a plan.

Well said. Running a business with the well being of your employees being your first priority will run you quickly out of business. Especially in this industry. If you want to work for a company where the company looks after your well being first there's only one way to do it.....start your own business:D

If you had a big enough pile of money to start an airline you'd be better off torching it and enjoying the bonfire.......the entertainment alone would give you a much better ROI then actually running an airline :D

Southwest lost money too! This is a little different economic period than when Lebreque et al. were in charge. All I said was that I trust our current management to keep ASA successful in the future. No more no less.

ya i do understand that things are different today. and i dont even want to know where we'd be today if lebreque was at the helm for the last year and a half.

United IS dumping Mesa this fall. RFPs have already gone out for their flying.

The maximum number that can be furloughed is 60 before they hit the no furlough clause. You don't know what you don't know.

Yeah I know, it's outrageous that people will spend that much to fly their stupid dog somewhere but they balk at paying more than $49 to fly themselves to the same place. Same with FedEx and UPS, individuals will pay a ton of money to overnight a package but refuse to pay a reasonable fare to overnight themselves. Maybe we should start charging people by the pound too? :D
