In all fairness the anger/resentment should be directed at RAH/F9 management, as far as the pilot group goes, negotiations are yet to be complete..............

Its threads like this that prove to all the mainline pilots out there how juvenile pilots like Air Willie and TD are. Slinging names at one another for the sake of what? Its an argument neither of you children will win because neither of you has control. And that's the real meat of these silly name bashing sessions you guys participate. Everyone who comes on here and reads this will instantly have a picture of the lot of you guys sitting in their respective mainline jumpseat (if you commute) chatting aimlessly about how horrible those Republic scabs are and no one, including myself, wants to hear it.

United is ruled by one of the worst CEOs in the business. His sole loyalty is to the share holder. BB does the same thing. He is responsible to his share holders. There is no difference. If tomorrow Republic said that they would pay the same 190 pay rates as Jet Blue, would you little pilot farmers then shut up? Is that what it is all about? There is no one at RP with less than two years under their belt so no one is flying anything for $23 an hour since they furloughed when? Last year?

This argument and this back and forth between how RP stole XJETs flying and now RP is ruining the industry just makes us all sick. I come on here only when big news is posted and I'm never surprised at the ridiculous banter that starts up when one well-run company makes smart business decisions. Take your emotions out of the posts and THINK about the decision BB has made here. It has nothing to do with pilots being stapled to a list or mergers or contract negotiations. This is to put cash into the back pocket of a highly successful business model so that it can continue to prosper. Acting like this only fuels the ire mainline has for kids at the controls since a lot of you act like one.

Well said.

Amen to those who get it, one way or another this situation will change/work itself out. Time as they say, will tell!

I'm starting to envy Republic, they seem to be the only regional that is thinking outside the box.

JoeyMeatballs 06-23-2009 06:16 AM

I agree RAH is a well run company, but sometimes just being employed by a stable company is not enough, lets hope the RAH pilot group will see some serious pay increases. The reason why RAH is such a successful , well run airline, and making so much money is due to the employees who continue to show up day to day and do their job efficiently and safely, time to pay them accordingly............. You take Bedford out of his position, airplanes will still get the people there tomorrow, you take away the pilots, no one is going anywhere. We as pilots need to realize our self-worth and FORCE management to pay us accordingly.

Pilots make airlines move, not greedy "out of the box" thinking CEO's

Ok, so principle isn't the issue... just the stigma in your own mind...

Republic Airways’ vision statement:
We believe that every employee, regardless of personal beliefs or world-view, has been created in the image and likeness of God. We seek to become stronger from our diversity. We seek personal respect and fulfillment from our work. Most of all, we seek to recognize the dignity and potential of each member of our Republic Airways Holdings family

I doubt DAL will get involved.

As far as putting their contract flying at risk...

Probably not an issue at this point, since RAH just owns shares (albiet a lot of them) in F9.

If they take over operational control of F9 (combine SOC's, merge pilot lists, etc) then a major partner could make a case about non-compete.

I'm 100% certain that BB is smart enough to not dump his gravy-train codeshares and go Indy on us.

It will be interesting to see how the scope issue works, since both F9 and RAH have scope. This might be the first application of that new federal law which requires equitable mergers.

It's worth noting that the law specifies alleghany-mohawk procedures, but makes no provision to recognize the inherent superiority of mainline pilots. F9 might get "equitably" force-integrated into RAH. F9 FO's might lose their ability to bid F9 captain, they might have to go back to an RJ. Gonna be some interesting negotiations here...
