Yeah, real freaking professional. "I don't like your airline so I am going to not let you in MY jumpseat." Pathetic, real pathetic. Get a life jerk. It's people like you that make the pilot profession worse than it has already become. You must be a joy to be around. Good luck with your jumpseat war. Hope it bites you in the @ss when you need a ride.

It's true!

RAH just opened a base in LAX. See for yourselves.

I love it! Big bad jumpseat denying internet guy!!!! "I'm so tough and idealistic behind my computer screen!" Are you going to be that tough in person when the pilot is standing in front of you? Here's the real question, does your attitude continue when you need a ride? I doubt it, it never does. It's not the pilot's at fault in the RAH situation, so you're not really accomplishing anything by being an , you're just being a .

Actually, if he's the Captain, he doesn't need to give anyone a reason for denying a jumpseat.

Jumpseating is a privilege, not a right.

The jumpseat coordinator may have a couple of questions though. If I was denied a jumpseat because of personal differences I can guarantee that there will be a phone call to the coordinator. While it is not a right it is a proffesional courtesy and not a tool for vendetta.

What about all the pilots who live out in the west coast? It does not make sense to say that RAH will not get pilots in an SFO base. The Bay Area is home to hundreds of qualified pilots who would just love to be based close to home. Currently, the only option for regional pilots on the west coast is SKW, and west coast is considered to be senior (at least for RJ pilots). It would be refreshing to have more options out here. Bring it on.

So is there still a rumor that RAH is going to have a SFO base now that SKW just announced it opening?

TillerEnvy 07-16-2009 01:01 PM

No...this rumor seems to be coming from the outside of our company..much like the PNC rumor.

LOL! I love old airline ads. I just found this one for United: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ta3Z0XlknPc

What happened to the "Friendship Room"?!?!?! At least they're not claiming to "fly the friendly skies" anymore.
