NICE!! Finally you can project your bankrupt morality on another pilot group. Just because GoJet isn't "in the news" right now doesn't mean you've all of the sudden been accepted. Our views of GJ pilots hasn't changed and there's no way we can take GJ pilot's opinion seriously on the subject of taking people's jobs.

AirWillie works for GoJet?!?! Oh may God. Talk about a deranged slant on reality. Not to mention disrepecting Air Wisconsin guys for using thier name and the TSA guys for the many obvious reasons.

Hey, I chose not to vote for that very reason! However, she was pretty cute for a politician.

I remember back in the day, majors got upset when regionals first flew pressurized cabins. Then it was turboprops that upset everybody. The advent of the CRJ outraged many. The 70 seat RJ did the same. The CRJ900 sparked some outrage over changes in scope limitations. Now the 100 seater EMB190 is causing a stir. To those who choose to throw stones towards RAH, take a look in the mirror. If you're flying anything that I mentioned above, you're also a part of the problem. Tough to admit, but you must.

So what fight are you fighting here?

I want nothing more than to work at a major, that is fading away rather quickly. My years at a major are being eroded. With that said, while I am at a regional, I'm glad i'm with a company that I can make a decent living and have decent work rules.

Perhaps when I was in junior high, you should have been working on locking in a better scope clause in your contract.

The airplane itself looks pretty good. Im sure it would look alot better with the midwest guys flying it for jet blue rates.

That definitely sounds good. Well said man.

I personally think the industry has become a completer cluster and many people/groups deserve to shoulder some of this. For instance, what about the legacy pilots who didn't want the little jets? What about the legacy carriers who started requiring 1000 TPIC at a 121 to become an FO? For the non-military types, that kinda whittled-down the ol' career path options.

And the return of the 1900's!! Although, I think it'd be a nice pic to have a 190 in front of the IWD terminal. :D

I couldn't be with you more on that statement. I agree 100% with your last point. I too share in your desire to work for a major. And for a while, I did. The lack of scope (at all airlines) is the problem here. The issue doesn't lie exclusively with RAH.

I saw one of these planes taking off in MSP today...reminded me of this thread.

so what you're saying is that while they were in Jr. High there were several chances where the "experienced" Midwest guys (at whatever airlines they were at) could have created scope or done something to reduce or eliminate the slow erosion that allows what is happening now to happen? And by extension, other pilots at Majors to stop the slow erosion as well with scope? I think I agree with you there. What is interesting is that there have STILL been chances to fix the problem but nothing has been done over the years.... The career possibilities post 9/11 is the main reason RAH has senior pilots. There have been few places to go to with much security. SWA has had tons of applicants and could afford to be picky. UAL has furloughed a few times sending guys back to RAH, albeit with a HUGE seniority loss (some went back 2x). NWA-DAL will have new guys with a slim chance of seeing the left seat of anything. F9 is where it is today so if a RAH guy went he could go back (with a huge loss of seniority perhaps and worried about swinging gear there a second time).....
