I believe crjdriver used his expired written to get his ATP a couple motnhs ago while on furlough. It depends on the DE you find and their interpretation of the rules.

There seems to be a lot of confusion and different interpretations of the Regs. regarding the ATP written. I took my ATP checkride in April and was able to use my expired written...
I took my ATP Written in March 2007, and I was furloughed Comair January 2009. My written expired on March 2009. I wanted to take my ATP checkride Part 61 in April, but I was unsure if I could use my now expired written exam. The DPE told me I was good to go, since I am still "working" at my airline. However, I called up my local FSDO to confirm. The FSDO had to call Oklahoma City to confirm as well. It took about a week to get an answer and clarification, but they all assured me I was good to go.
My DPE knew how to handle this situation, as he had dealt with it before. We just did a paper 8710, because IACRA would just reject your written and say it is expired. We also attached a copy of my furlough letter to proof that I still had a seniority number and was on "furlough status". It's was a bit of a pain in the butt, but it is worth it if you can figure it out and have a DPE that knows what he is doing.

Being a Colgan guy I have no place in a comair thread but...with Alpa on property Colgan will not be a 19K a year airline for long. We will be working hard to get a contract and get what we deserve so although it is certainly not the shining star now it has potential for someone who comes on now and gets seniority in the future.......and then....

Perhaps you should glance at how long negotiations have lasted at your sister company and still no contract to show. Management will continue to delay until they cannot any more. Plus, you guys have such a long way to go to even reach industry standard, I doubt pinnacle management will be coming around to your demands any time soon.

Don't be silly! We are wholly owned by Delta, and as such, we will continue on and on, without change...ever...just like Delta. New paint, same old archaic thinking.

And it would be appropriate, every couple months, for a few Comair threads to become a Pinnacle or SkyWest thread without warning, and just keep the CA tail number.
