Also I don't know if you should be posting that on a public forum, that was info sent out in a company e-mail.

I expected that and FYI Slap, SKW is a publically held company therefore this information is made available to the public and isn't considered private. Thus the reason why I only posted the info that can be found using public channels.

I don't really think this is sensitive info but I'm curious what public channels this is available through.

Flight load schedules and aircraft utilization schedules are published and most can be found through the SEC in quarterly and yearly reports.

If these reports were not published then this would be considered insider information which would make it illegal for SKW to release the info to its employees. We as pilots are not in the "know."

I was wondering how long it would take to get to these forums after he included that little statement.

I have no issues with this, times are tough and I’m glad we have a scrappy Mgmnt team.

Best of luck to all.

Keeps the union drive at bay.

SKW management went through a lot of trouble since BH took over at ASA to boost moral and make it seem like they actually cared about our employees. Lately, the words are still there but they are furloughing pilots, badly abusing our FAs and hardly even waving goodbye as we lose stations. And now they shift flying for Skywest this fall to avoid a big reduction in schedule while ASA takes a huge cut.

The only thing I can figure is that SKW has more of a vested interest in keeping the Skywest pilots happy and union activity at bay. Disappointing news but not really surprising!

I can see how it may feel like that but I wouldn’t call this a "shift in flying." It sounds more like additional at-risk flying.

While I admit being somewhat bitter about the furloughs ;) I was more curious why ASA management (we are the same company after all!) wouldn't try to do the same thing.
