And before the 170 it was the cr7&9, before that it was your 145 and cr200 (Regionals flying jets? How dare they!) Before the RJs it was dash 8s and ATRs (regionals flying turboprops carying 50+ pax? How dare they!) Before that it was 1900s and JBalls (Regionals flying turbines? How dare they!) There's always something destroying the industry. As Boiler said, it's not the airplanes fault. It goes back to the pilots who DIDN'T want them who started this debacle.

I disagree.
You wouldn't have to worry about E-Jets at Republic (and CR7s and CR9s at a half-dozen other carriers) hulk-smashing your career expectations if pilots (mainline AND regional alike) could see further than six inches in front of their freaking face...

I had a mainline guy (airline irrelevant) the other day tell me he hopes that we get Frontier because it would be great for all of us Republic folks. I was really surprised by this. I respectfully disagreed with him. As I sit here taking a break from schoolwork to read some posts it reminds me why I am back in school. I can't wait to get out of this industry. It sucks that we have to spend so much money and time to get here to realize it sucks. Call me a debbie downer but it's just my personal opinion. Maybe someday things will turn around but I don't plan on waiting around to find out. Back to the books, goodnight y'all. |

Gee, that's funny because NWA Pilots WANTED the Larger RJs at Mainline, but a Bankruptcy Judge decided they would be better off OUTSOURCED to a cheaper Regional!!!!!!!  So whose fault is it?

Do people get ****ed when the controller says "wind calm", too? The controller said it, who cares? It's not a personal attack against your flying abilities.
I once was scolded by a pilot for not giving an advisory when he departed in his 172 behind a helicopter that departed from mid field while he held in position. If controllers give the minimum amount of information every time, the frequencies would be full of "wind check" and "how was the braking action?" |
hey my buddy works for compass. should i be an ass to him for flying the 175? :)

I agree that a 737 is not a "heavy" but will give you a ride. As will an md80. But a 170 10 miles in front of me with a departure of an erj on the same runway in between shouldn't be cause to worry.
And Apc is not where you hear Rah pilots boasting about flying the Midwest flights, that's done while jumpseating to ind and California. I've had a it a couple times already. |

If you dislike the RAH guys so much then why are you accepting a ride on their JS? If I ride a JS with another carrier, I will keep whatever goes on in there in there. I am not defending RAH but if I held a group in that much disdain then I would refrain from begging a ride from them.
He was saying he hears your attitude. You guys are undermining the the profession. The Midwest guys could not strike legally. You guys all know that. You were brought in to undermine their contract... "virtual scabs". I understand you have to fly the trips, but your pilot group is bragging about and protecting the flying taken from another union membership during contract negotiations. I know Republic pilots can do no wrong. Can you do something right? |
