I don't think 20 airframes will get anyone called back. All it would do is get everyone back on full time status, i.e. no more 40 and 60 hr lines. We would need more airframes to get recalls.

But that would put the most junior people in the company back on reserve! We can't have that!

I am out of the loop. Did they park some airplanes, or are these new airplanes? Good luck from a former COEX/ExpressJet guy! To me, it will always be COEX.
Concurrent with that (and what I was referencing), the Union allowed the company to offer Reduced Flying Lines. They company awarded MANY long-term 40/60 hour lines to guys, essentially making them instant relief line holders, while people hundreds of numbers senior to them are on reserve. They can also pick up advertised trips and build their line up to 80-90+ hours every month. Just ask one of the union guys...he's doing it! |
