That is very true!

Where are y'all around ORD? thought that flying was extended, but haven't seen any Aquafresh ERJ's around. IAD maybe?

Nope, that flying ended right on schedule.

There was a provision in the deal that UAL had a rolling extension period, but it never got used. Obviously.

ExpressJet taking a look at Gary

10/3

Gary/Chicago International Airport is in talks with regional carrier ExpressJet to fly from Gary to major airline hubs such as Denver International and Dulles International in Washington, D.C.

UAL flying?

UAL flying?

It's probably just due diligence (maybe a part of the RFP relating to at-risk flying for united?). Before you enter a contract you crunch numbers, talk to the parties affected, and otherwise figure out its a good deal. It's not a secret who bid on the flying. I'm sure ASA and others have spoken to numerous airports as well.

They probably did, part of that rfp was for q-400s and UAL offered 10 planes to skywest for 2 years and they turned it down.

UAL offered the same thing to Mesa a couple of years ago, COO said it was too short of a contract to consider when the shortest lease on a 400 was 7 years.

You'd be pretty dumb to take such a short contract on a popular new airframe...hell it would take half that time first just to train up crews! Not to mention other costs. Guess even JO knows this. Look at the debacle with RAH/CO.
