Quote: You guys are all foaming at the mouth, just waiting for your chance to replace UAL's 737 flying. Don't worry though, in 5 years someone else will be eagerly waiting to undercut your RJ flying.
Yes like anybody has a choice. Because the world revolves around pilots. Let's all mass quit so that UA may get their 737s back.

If everyone at GoJet had a mass quitting that would be a step in the right direction. It would let your management and other managements know you don't want to be at the very bottom of the industry.

Is there a bottom in this industry? It looks like the hole goes deeper every month. I'm sure JO is crying every night looking at what RAH has been able to do.

please tell me who put a gun to your head to go to take a job at gojet? pilots do have a choice. 50 seat flying really isn't the issue here though.

The economy, furlough, AMR 50 seat clause which was a catalyst for the seperate lit, which ironically enough is not a concern anymore since AMR droped out, Dario(mec that didn't secure flying). Lots of things... there's a difference between a UA furlough with the 05 guys that actually left a job they had to get ahead in seniority. Not to mention at an airline that's union with a contract that's leading Mesas industry leading contract! Comparable 66 seat pay with CRJ9 operators out there too. Ok mass quit in 3. 2. 1.

GoJet and TSA could have the same seniority list, your airline's sole purpose was to find pilots willing to fly a -700 for -200 rates.

Your contract is better than Mesas? That's debatable and even if it is true that is an embarrassing argument. At least Mesa's pilot group is finally growing some balls and going to try and vote out PBS. 9E just voted down a terrible TA, what positive thing has GoJet ever done or attempted to do for the profession?

Which airline do you have comprable pay with?

I hope we all want this flying to stay with UA but since it's going to be forced down the throats of the regionals I hope XJet, Skywest, or ASA wins it.

I just want to point out that UA guys aren't losing flying over this. The RFP is likely to replacing Mesa's current contract. In the end if ASA, XJT, SkyWest or anyone with a better contract than Mesa gets this it would be a slight improvement for all of us.

Of course the BEST outcome would be for UA mainline to get the flying but their scope concessions make that unlikely.

No one has mentioned the "the great equalizer" in this RFP chase. UNITED NEEDS CASH !!! The primary player in this game with a mattress stuffed full of the stuff is Skywest Inc. Are they willing to float a loan in UAL's direction? Considering that if UAL went Tango Uniform they would lose about half their flying AND that they have a pretty good batch of A/C about to be available due to Delta and Midwest sit downs, YEAH THEY'LL LOAN THEM THE MONEY!

This one isn't meant to be a fair competition. It's rather weighted if you look at it. Skywest Inc will win the flying with a nice fat loan check to UAL. Since there is a "golden opportunity" to finally seal the PBS deal at ASA, look for them to send a good portion, if not all, to ASA. If there was a way to legally put a "PBS approval" contingency clause on it, they'd probably do that too.

That's an interesting point. Mesa clearly doesn't have the financial muscle that Inc. does. After RAH's spending spree I believe that Inc. has the most cash of anyone. Inc. management accomplishes two things with a move like this, they secure a ton of flying by keeping UA solvent and they deal a pretty good sized blow (possible death blow) to Mesa if they end up getting dropped.

Once again management moving us all around like pawns.....

Which if that happened, if you kill a guy on the battlefield, remember to take his bullets. In other words, don't be surprised if there is a separate Skywest Inc. "team" already talking to Delta and others about being ready with two viable carriers to pick up the pieces if Mesa finally falls. That part is a bit of a stretch, but any good business team (and SKYW Inc is) is always looking two or three scenarios ahead.
