So if I understand this correctly, TSA will sign an LOI for 100 jets that have not been made for a customer that does not exist, and that is an acceptable level of risk. On the other hand, we have a deal to secure flying for a 5 years of guaranteed income, but there is too much risk because of the 2 years at the end when they're not sure what to do with 22'ish EMB 145's? 100 fictitious airplanes, no customer, ok. 22 airplanes, actual customer, too risky? 96% strike vote, ok level of risk. Sign a new pilot contract for industry average pay and most likely more opportunities for the company, too risky?

You certainly can't say that this was cost prohibitive for Xjet, look at their pilot contract. If it helps you TSA, we'd be glad to take Xjet's contract so we can be more competitive in the future. Bad news Hulas, you're "leaders" just lost you a bunch of money, which we all know you like. How many times do they have to fail you before you decide to replace them with someone with at least a college education?

In fairness to uncle Hulas and our leaders, there is no actual order of MRJs. It's just an intent to order if they find partners. They can withdraw anytime. Maybe the timing was wrong for this, 22 airplanes is a lot for TSA to handle if they find no home for them in 2015 with the possibility of also paying for MRJs simultaneously. I.E MESA and Exjet but they have or had tons of cash for the bleed. TSA can't take that risk and they don't need to. However that still doesn't fill the gap between now and 5 years from now of growth!!!!! We should put our focus on the strike now that we know we are indeed very competitive, no more excuses.

Remember that TSA is privately owned. There is no need to be accountable to shareholders. Most shareholders would demand an explanation. But Hulas and his cronies have their own agenda and rest assure that as closely as they hold their cards, we don't have all the information.

So the way I understand it...xjet's flying starts May 1...and we were recalled for class in December? Why? I don't have a calendar infront of me right now but that seems kind of premature even if we got the flying.

Without knowing the number of pilots who would accept a recall, perhaps part of the plan was to give enough time to figure out how many new hires to get into the system and allow enough time to get them through IOE and out onto the line in time for May 1st.

We've already established it. It's TSA! How stupid did I feel today driving back to the post office to pick up another certified letter that said we sorry but we tried.

What they should have done was made this whole thing less official and should have been more upfront that they didn't know anything. It was a big inconvenience. I'll buy the whole thing that it was stipulated to notice the pilots but they should have just called us. Like the flight manager tried to call about 5 times to make sure that I found out that we didn't get the flying. Thanks a lot...

Except they didn't really try (based on the info we have). They have the info but they didn't bother to tell anyone whats going on. Posting a half-assed memo at 10pm on Friday night is another example of cowardice and disrespect towards the employees.
