It appears minimums are down from what they were in the spring. AWAC's website states 800/100 right now.

Interesting, they were 1500/500 when I applied.

indeed they are much lower now..I just talked to a kid who was starting IOE and he got hired with 600 hours, and without an internal rec....go figure...

Good thing we got that 1500 hour law through congress.

Relax Garje.....im not calling you out directly....im stating that anyone who doesnt get the go ahead for training means they arent what we are looking for.

I also know a lot more about the hiring process here than you think I do, so again before you start accusing people or other airlines of certain issues, think really hard about what it is that you want to say.

And for what its worth even though you used the word "appears" its still insinuating that other people would think that we only hire US Citizens. Im merely putting that rumor to bed before it spreads like wildfire like every other rumor on this forum.

Im sorry you didnt get hired...honestly...but for whatever reason Mgmt has for not hiring yourself and the hundreds of other applicants who want to work here has more to do with the fact that they can pick and choose the cream of the crop based on experience/aircraft type/letters of rec.....you name it.

Its a buyers market right now....not a sellers.....best of luck to you and whoever else is looking for work.

They've had a few recent training failures with some high-timers that they hired. Maybe they're re-thinking that strategy.

Flyboy8784 - I am not accusing people or an airline of any issues or insinuating anything, it was an observation on my end. I'm not going to continue the discussion about the citizenship issue. I've said what I've had to say. I have no interest to work for AWAC anymore!

It would have been nice of you to share with members of this forum what AWAC is looking for, since you know so much about the hiring process...

Nobody really knows what they are looking for. Most people who apply have the numbers and the knowledge for most RJ operators. People go to the interview and throw the dice and see how it comes up. As often as not it comes to whether or not they think someone will fit into the culture of the company, as the numbers are met.

Will they fit? Will they be a good investment? Will they pass training? Will they be reliable and safe? Etc.

There are no absolutes. This is why someone who has all the numbers and everything a major is looking for and might not get the job or even the interview.

I just checked the website. It says 1500 and 500 M.E. in one spot and 800 and 100 M.E. in another place.

Yep...800/100 here

Air Wisconsin Airlines Corporation

But when you click on the FO link under open positions that's dated 6/21/10, it says 1500.
