Republic has taken over all the flying for Midwest Airlines, but the company Midwest Air Group is still alive as a subsidiary of Republic Airways.
from BB...
Our job was simple – could we buy company and operate it at our costs and we’ve done that. We’ve dismantled everything that was Midwest. There is no operating certificate, no unions, no anything. It is a virtual airline providing capacity sourced either through Republic with the E-Jets or Frontier with its A319s.
Pretty good trick. I hope BB can't get away with keeping Midwest Airlines in all forms without honoring the labor contracts with ALPA and AFA.

We can blame each other all day long while the Fat Cats are laughing it up at the country club smoking big cigars and thinking of new ways to make money multiply.
At the end of the day, we (the little guys) have no control over what the company we happen to work for does. We are all just trying to make a life in our chosen profession. I'm sure most of us would rather work somewhere else (unless you work for Fed-Ex, UPS, SWA, NASA, NetJets, Oprah or USAF flying Air Force One).

I think there are 495 guys at NetJets that would like to work somewhere else come Jan 2010...
