Hey -- those darn Republic guys. They had sooooo much choice in the whole thing. Let's see -- everyone used to bash Mesa, now that they are near deaths doors, we are on to Republic. The return of decent wages and quality of life will come not from bashing each other or even new "super contracts". It will come from all of us uniting behind a common cause and supporting legislation through Congress that makes being an airline so difficult that a true shortage will occur. If you think a new Republic, Colgan, or Mesa (or any other bashee) contract is going to change the industry, check the history books over the last 20 years.

Very retarded thread.
If Colgan had bought small airline X and they started flying the E190 your guys would be falling over themselves to fly that thing... just as they would at Pinnacle, ASA, Skywest, etc etc etc.

indeed they all would. However it is so much fun for those who work at their "industry leading" shops to play King of the Regionals over the dreaded "bottom feeding" scum who bring the entire industry down

So does that mean that the furloughed RAH that are coming back are going to be called scabs because they have a choice now that they know what their company has done??

Obviously you think that picture from the OP is OKAY...which tells me you don't really know how this business works either. Maybe I should post a nice button my father gave me from the United Airlines strike from 1985 that will help you better understand how this industry is SUPPOSED to work. This current day and age (never mind the economy) is NOT how the airlines are supposed to work. To many airlines have to many "dirty corner-standing ladies" who take everything they can, but do nothing for the industry as a whole. With the attitude you convey, I would assume you are one of the "many", so no point in continuing.

Midwest Airlines is a subidiary of Republic Airways. You guys really think the industry is going to forget the actions of Republic pilots in undermining negotiations and "locking-out" Midwest pilots from integration at their own airline.
Indianapolis-based Republic said it will replace all of Midwest’s Boeing 717s with Embraer 190s once the separate unions that represent pilots and flight attendants merge their ranks, Republic Chairman and CEO Bryan Bedford said.
...
Republic Teamsters will go down in aviation history with Frank Lorenzo.

And if you can't figure out how to deal with your misplaced anger, it's gonna kill you someday. Those of us who were there saw too many good people die from it.

Not to burst your theory, but when the Gay & Lesbian movement first emerged from the closet 40+ years ago, they were happy just not getting beaten on the street. Over time, they gained protections in housing, and employment, and slowly one little baby step at a time, we are at a point in history where Gays & Lesbians are legally married in several states...
The point being, that if they had emerged from the closet demanding marriage rights, they would have been stoned to death on the spot, and nobody would have blinked an eye...
It is the same thing here my friend. Yes, Mesa is trash; but so are just about all the regionals. If we spent our effort trying to destroy their industry overnight it would be impossible. It is much easier to target the weakest and most despised of the trash, and even get their own counterparts (you) to join in the fight to eliminate them. Once one is gone, you move onto the next largest trash company. Mesa is all but done, it is now RAH's turn on the chopping block.
How long do you think the "mainline partners" of RAH will tollerate directly funding their competition now that RAH is a large plane operator competing directly against them on several routes.... How long do you think the shareholders of those mainline companies will allow it to continue? The CEO's number one job is to keep their job. Their second job is to provide a return and be accountable to their investor/shareholders. Directly funding your competition is not good business.
