SkyWest Closing ATL base March 1.
 

I guess SkyWest made the decision to close the ATL base on Mar 1. On another subject there is talk we will be flying more out of MSP.

Maybe they will give some flying back to ASA

So is Skywest still going to operate out of ATL?

What are the rumors saying about which carrier that MSP flying is for???

Really? Just curious, but what is the OFFICIAL source for your post? As a ORD based Skywest Captain, I cannot find any information regarding a base closure on the Skywest company/employee website.

And unless Google is missing a news story somewhere, a general internet search doesn't seem to reveal anything either.

I fully admit, I could be missing something, somewhere.

(Note: I am not challenging your post as being wrong, I would just like to know your source. If the source is a friend who just went to sim in SLC, who heard from a friend, who . . . well, you get the idea . . . :D)

I didn't get any new contract with Northwest. I actually work for Pinnacle, but this would go directly with one of the biggest rumors floating around our company at the moment. The talk is that we are getting the LGA flying from Delta and will close MSP. Another company saying they are ramping up flying in MSP would seem to make this a lot more likely.

Of course we all know how rumors go. I won't believe anything till I see a vacancy, and even then I will be sceptical.

if skywest is closing ATL i wonder how long before S5 closes theirs.

How about Comair, Mesaba, Compass, Pinnacle etc??? ASA is not the ONLY DCI carrier out there. AND last I checked others such as Comair are hurting far worse then ASA is....... I'd wish for them to gain flying if it were going somewhere. Better yet how about Mainline takes the flying back??? Novel concept eh?
