I'll never buy anything but Ecco again. Great shoe.

I just picked up a pair of Ecco's lace ups but I have read they have to be slip-ons. These are the shoes and company site says airport friendly but then again I though a pair of rubber soled Bostonians I have was also metal free, but I was wrong.

Helsinki Bike Toe Tie | Mens Dress Shoes | ECCO USA

Hopefully they will get me through security without having to take them off.

Two things you should never short yourself on.. Shoes and beds, if you're not in one, you are in the other.

Sorry guys. I have to disagree. Ariat boots. Yes cowboy boots. Maybe 'cause im from the midwest. But they have the most comfortable boots! And they have a boot with a fiberglass plate insetead of the brass! So you dont even have to take them off in security! Awesome.

Yup, Heritage Ropers are awesome. Super comfy year round, durable, TSA friendly and they take a decent shine.

Deerstags for the last eleven years. They are inexpensive, hold up very well (most models anyway), and have ZERO metal in them.

Ariat Heritage Ropers for those snowy/wet NE winter walk-arounds, and Ecco lace-ups (can't remember which) for the sweaty summers. Comfort both ways. Well worth the money too. When I bought the Ecco's the guy at Nordstorm asked if I was a pilot. "We sell more of these to pilots than anything."

Worst shoes I've ever owned were Deer Stags. Bought them cause they were cheap. And cheap and uncomfortable they were. Literally wore out in a year like no shoe I've ever had.

+1
Hated deer stags. Took a while to break them in and they cut up my Achilles heal pretty bad in the process. They are cheap, but offer very little in support.
