Default PNCL News and Rumors

So PNCL is celebrating we paid off a 121 million debt. Where did the money come from? Some say we took another loan to pay it off. Anyone know about this? If that's true....isn't that like paying off a credit card with another credit card????

Lots of vacant manager positions down south. ACP for MEM/MSP, Head training manager, LCA positions in ATL, etc. A MEM LCA passing through DTW told us in the crew room yesterday that Mr. Pink-Slip is poised for one of those positions. Any truth to that?

LGA flying?

You're probably not going to get a lot of sympathy in here, PCL is the only DCI carrier, if I'm not mistaken, to have gained and not lost any flying in the whole 'synergy' thing. I don't even know, how many 50s you guys have?

They used the huge tax refund, our signing bonus, and credit from some banks to pay it off. Now pinnacle is pretty much debt free. Also at some point they are going to be able to get some of their money back from the ASRs once they reach a final agreement from the people they bought them from.

Dont know who is in line for the ACP spot.

We are doing more transition flights to ATL and LGA but after the DOT ruling and what delta said I seriously doubt there is any future growth going to LGA. I wouldn't doubt it if compass re-opened their base in memphis.

PCL ALPA (negotiators/chairman) are in front of the NMB today explaining why the TA failed and the "meat and potatoes" that are the remaining issues to get a deal done for the pilots. After that the ball is in the NMB's court for direction going forward. There is not a specified time for them to get back to us, but I have been told this type of decision does not take long to receive. We can go through "what we think they will say" but the NMB has a few options- (in no particular order) direct negotiations with the company, mediated negotiations, release, or ice. The MEC will be putting out info as it comes back from the NMB and will work to keep all the pilots informed. Keep in mind since the failed TA the union has NOT had a direct negotiation session with the company, the union has been willing, but the company attorney(s) have been firm that they cannot negotiate without the NMB's "Ok" (hence the NMB meetings that are going on today and monday). The editorial review took many weeks of hard work on behalf of the negotiating committee and the company where many areas have been reworded for proper intent and some issues the pilots had are actually fixed, yet the big items that the TA was voted down for have not been discussed in a true negotiation. This is a public board -and mgmt does look at this a good bit- so I won't comment on what we are wanting, the strategy, or what I think the company will do. needless to say everyone (MEC and pilots) want this done- but we won't just roll over and raise a flag. The pilots have shown (in survey data and pilot's direct input to their reps) what they need, and that's what everyone is working towards as quickly as possible.

Well boys and girls here is the real news ...
On Friday I was in Memphis and the sentiment was hiring one class of 12-16 for the summer will 'fix it' - staffing that is.
Dont kill the messenger ....
And btw, i wouldnt be surprised to see them offer RAs and LOAs in September-December to avoid furloughing the newbies. You know how the knee-jerk reactions of 9E are ... too little, too late...
Cheers

Haha. Yeah like all the real news we have heard coming from the school house the last few years. It will take more than that to staff us. We are in the middle of February and struggling to staff.

If they offer LOA's again I will take one in a heartbeat!!! DO it!

Also, 12-16 only about 8 will make it through the training without leaving becuase they suck or personal reasons and that wont even make a dent.

I have gotten 2 JA calls in the last 15 hours and our flying hasn't even picked up yet. Things are going to start falling apart next month with the TDY taking FOs out of DTW. This place is going to suck more than usual this summer unless we hire significantly more than 1 class of 15 people.

I like how someone said it on our union board. Hope he doesn't mind me posting it here...

Sing with me here.. I'm sure you know the tune..

"The wheels on the bus are falling off.. falling off.. falling off.. the wheels on the bus are falling offff all over the place.."
