Because those CFI's are bright eyed and bushy tailed... They'll take the punishment and say "thank you, may I have another trip"

"Why do you want to work here?"

"Why didn't you apply to us before?"

It would be much easier to give a believable explanation as a CFI than a furloughed pilot from another regional unfortunately.

Pretty easy to not be a jackass.

Let people make their own mistakes. It's the only way they'll ever learn.

Study for the ATP written. You have to get 40/50 right (80%). I've been working 121 for 5 years, a CA for 2.5, and I studied and missed 3 or 4. 10 guys, including 4 ex-121 guys failed the test and were asked to leave from my group.

No, I didn't take the job.

Thanks for the info. What bases are they offering?

And all you guys that are so smug because you got hired with a "good" regional when you had 400 hours and 25 multi can have a little respect for those of us who didn't get so "lucky". A lot of you guys cracking jokes never had to work at a flight school at all. People like me that are going to the interviews have instructed for several years. After 1100 hours in a Cessna 172 and over 500 hours in light twins, there isn't anything else that can help my career but turbine time. People like me have paid our dues and still have YEARS to wait for ExpressJet, Skywest, ASA, etc. Might as well get some turbine time while I wait. More recip time won't help much once you meet the hours for ATP.

Because a friend of mine who is a FO for NetJets and was also a captain for ATA in the past applied to Colgan and they called him and said that he was "too heavy with experience"...he had 5000+ hours, now, if this doesn't keep you up at night I don't know what will, I will never let my wife and kids get on a colgan flight,,, I had a friend who I instructed with was hired by Colgan about 9 years ago was on a ferry flight to reposition to get the A/C fixed and sure enough the plane was not airworthy as the mechanics said and crashed in the water off of the Cape in the north east... just two pilots onboard...Colgan is trading expiereinced pilot for having unsafe people up there, I know that is bad to say but there are alot of highly tained guys out there...
