Lax - good luck. It's very small and fairly senior. Dfw - very good chance.

There have been a few people that got LAX right out of the gate.

The problem with LAX is, it is a very small and senior base.
The most junior line holder was hired 5 or 6 years ago. Granted that is going to change for the better in the next few years, but it is still a long time to be on reserve potentially having to drive to LAX every day in LA traffic. And just when you think you can hold a line some one senior to you could come along and bump you back down to reserve status.
I'm keeping DFW as my base and living here until I know I can hold a line in LA.

Do you have to pay for hotel? I think the company pays for it.

So last month ATR Miami had 27 hard lines plus a relief and composit. This month only has 25 with the relief being a captain's only and now there's a TDY for 6 FO's?

What am I missing?

When you get scheduled an Ioe trip... When and where are you supposed to meet the captain the day of your trip. I was given a trip with no instructions and the lady on the phone had no idea.

Mean while the jet is still hurting for peoPle system wide. I have only averaged about 10 hrs a month since cOming off IOE in June on MIA ATR. Every ATR base is over staffed IMO. SJU has almost twice as many FO's as they do lines.

The captain will call you, if not be at the gate at your normal showtime or a little earlier.

Aviator,

I'm not sure where you're going to be based but if your IOE trip is in base try to get in early and stop by the CP's office to do your base visit. Look for some Jepps updates and if by 45 minutes prior to departure no one is there then just go to the gate.

You know how it is brother........here's the pool. Now go swimming.
