You guys can't always play that safe card and scream: COMAIR anytime something like this happens. These are completely different companies under different circumstances...

Furthermore, the TA we were being forced fed these past few months is gone. All flow through agreements are still in place. All aircraft ordered by AMR are still coming.

Beyond that whatever happens is pure speculation at this point. Just relax. New hire classes are NOT being canceled, and there is no reason to cancel them. Hiring is not stopping. Retirements at AA will continue and probably pick up pace.

AMR needed restructuring and that is what will happen now.

You do realize this is their chance to get that new feed they want...

My Kool Aid picture didnt work :(

You mean cheaper feed, you mean lower the longevity pay at Eagle!

Well you are correct here but they did say diversify... So probably both.

This will eliminate the desire for folks to make AE a career and it will revert back to a regional stepping stone...probably the way it should be. I also wouldn't be surprised if the jets STAY for quite some time.

I completely agree. I'll be very shocked if the MD80s aren't the first to go (and then probably the 135s)... Quit with the fear mongering people!!! It isn't the end of eagle or AA...

You guys r dreaming. AA grow! Yeh right, AA will shrink and B - scale, e.g. regionals at AMR are gona grow. The 80 is gone and mark my words that new 100 to 120 seat jet being made up in Canada isn't just to look good on there ramp, I bet they will be flow by Eagle or someone. Just a bad situation all around.

This is exactly why I think Eagle has been on a hiring binge. Sadly I suspect they are going to pull feed from the mainline and put bigger planes at Eagle. Just a guess. I bet you won't see hiring slow down either.

If you come into this industry thinking that the Airline is going to treat you with respect and dignity, your sadly blinded by ignorance. Protect yourself, Protect your family. Get hired, Get your experience, Move on. Expect the worst and Hope for the best and you will never live a day with heartburn and disappointment. Never allow an Airline to divide the pilot group. What if you fly for an airline but don't work for an "airline". Some of us have stable careers without fear of financial hardship on the part of our company. Don't paint with such a broad brush.
