The bottom line is Eagle ALPA reps (especially the core cadre) are raking in huge $$$$. It's a great gig, especially when the pilots you represent don't demand that much from you. That's why those guys have been in their cushy jobs for 5-10 years (or more).................because it IS cushy !!!!

My bet says that aside from the fat expense account and the ability to tailor your schedule to get EXACTLY the days you want or need off, they're averaging about 120 hours pay per month. That's about $144,000/year @ topped out CRJ scale not including the freebies and expenses. It's no wonder they're fighting tooth and nail to keep their positions. If they were delivering for that bloated lifestyle that the PILOTS allow them, that would be one thing. Instead.....................well, you know what you've got. Anyone who supports this fiefdom is either a world-class sucker or part of their 'good 'ole boys club'. Most have been dumbed down to the point they don't care anymore which is why apathy rules and the few prosper wildly at the expense of the majority.

My condolences in advance but there IS a light at the end of the tunnel. As Eagle contracts to allow another to take up some of the flying, the kings will keep their thrones and palaces, but eventually with bulging wallets and bank accounts, they'll move on over to AA at the beginning of the wave and the poor surviving saps at Eagle will wallow in cesspool left behind. A least then, you'll be rid of them though.

I agree 100%, but for me, I'm just not a bean counter. Never have, mever will. I'll vote yes or no when the time comes. That's all I can do. I'm not gonna let my feelings for these folks affect the way I handle my business while i'm on duty. Knock on wood that i'm a DFW guy and don't have to deal with the ORD bs.

Like I said, that's just me. Fly safe, stay classy!

It's not an ORD problem. What's happening there is both a symptom and demonstration of the real problem and that is a core cadre in Euless that places its interests above the pilots.

You'll not likely have any vote in the future as that group apparently see's themselves as the paternalistic decision makers of Eagle pilots. The latest counter-proposal is likely smoke and mirrors and ultimately the landscape of your future will not be decided by you, but them.

at the end of may just N3D all may, and look at how many times you see your union guys on there, and for those with backbones who think its BS to pick up OT while the company is putting together furlough projection and staffing needs, note who the dirty folks are.

I guess we can just roll over, say we cant change the industry, and just hope and wait for the magical shortage. Then when it comes, we will be in such high demand, that our dirty desire to do nothing useful for ourselves will be swept away by simple supply/demand in which no one will even want to work here let alone pick up ot because everyone will be getting sucked upward, and the company will not be able to hire fast enough, or pay enough to give us what we want.

Want a napkin for that upper lip? In the history of airline pilots, their strongest tool has been a group effort to make things better for us all, because in the end, this is one of the best jobs on earth and anyone would give up their life and future to come do it.

Thank god the company is great at propaganda to keep us in line from seeing this truth, and the union is their number one tool of spreading it around.

guess you dont mind sitting there making that nice pay, most likely feeding the staffing numbers that will result in the guy in the right seat losing their job.

I've been in a couple different professional aviation organizations, one being military, in my nearly 20 years to know you can't fix staffing.

Pick your fights wisely. Good luck.
