Anything at this point is pure speculation.

wow...

maybe they should be stapled to the TOP of the list.....

My personal hope is Colgan will hire those folks for current growth (first let's get them a paycheck), but NOT have them resign their Mesaba seniority numbers. Then WHEN the lists are merged, they could use the Mesaba number for negotiating integration.

However integration is done (DOH, relative, or a combination), the furloughees should have realistic expectations: they are still going to be darn close to the bottom of the list. As of the latest list posted for Colgan, the most junior Mesaba guy would only have about 40+ people below (based on DOH). That would be only 1 1/2% up from the bottom of all three merged lists.

I'm wondering because I have a couple friend's from college that are furloughed from Mesaba and just wondering what will happen to them. I know that at other airlines they have just stapled them to the bottom of the list during mergers.

You can't just staple one ALPA carrier to another ALPA carrier. There are strict rules and procedures so a staple can't happen.

An entire carrier cannot be stapled. Furloughs, however, can be stapled, and have in the past.

Just got word that Colgan will still be conducting the interviews on the 21st but more than likely will not be offering anyone positions until all Mesaba furloughee's are placed.
