For the first question... yes. I nearly became part of the problem myself when I started class at GLA thinking the same way, I had an offer to fly in Alaska at the same time but thought "oh, maybe I should try the quick turbine PIC route", anyway, after talking it over with my "classmates" I quit GLA, within a week of starting class, and went to Alaska to make something I could live on... in retrospect I realized that I would not have been helping myself or anyone else by doing what was perceived as the quick route, I'd still be based in DEN (if that) instead of HNL.

As to the last, I am used to it, and I've never given my services to bidders below poverty wage (with one noted exception above, and even then, I realized the error of my ways before I was locked into it), not even ones close to it. If flying brings you more joy than money then do something else for a living and fly for fun, if you're serious about the career start treating it like it's something you make a living with, not something you're doing as a hobby.

I know it's a long shot, but does anyone know how many Mesaba furloughs are expected to move to Colgan?

No way to tell but I would imagine most would take Pinnacle first unless they live on the East Coast. This is a guess as well as how many actually return is unknown for now.

Are you really THAT eager? If a bunch of Mesaba furloughs say thanks but no thanks shouldn't that maybe be a warning flag for you? Not to mention going to Colgan now means NO quick upgrade which was the benefit before. The Seniority integration will have the potential to bite the new hires the hardest, part of the reason they want the furloughs is because it simplifies the process.

Some guys will never learn.

If only people could be taught through others experience than only through their own....

Word on the street. All Mesaba guys that are furloughed and were in the CRJ will be going to Pinnacle. The Saab guys are going to Colgan. Those that were not "F" will have a 2:1 ratio of senority that will transfer. Those "F" will be stapled to the bottom of senority.

thats a big negative, we have 12 furloughed Saab drivers going over to 9E in the August 26 long class on the CRJ, as far as I know we don't have one single guy looking to go to Colgan...the 2:1 deal is something both Unions will have to figure out...I would be surprised if it went to that...

The "street" is wrong!
