Colgan Interview

not sure but two friends who got hired here on the saab are flying the line right now as lineholders, and we hear of more flying to come for the saabs in dc.
the q side will def be reserve until houston opens up, then lineholders will increase again soon when new planes hit the ground.

Your friends are lucky to taste the life of a lineholder so early! This is due to such short staffing. As the base gets staffed up, they will build more reserve lines and bring the pain to those that don't live in base.

Staffed up! You guys are owned by Pinnacle now... Im suprised they havent been talking about furloughs yet.

I never answered the phone....150% of nothing IS nothing when it comes to pay...they can keep it. I hope they had to cancel and incurred a huge penalty from CAL.

We are still dead in the water in EWR. I am relatively senior and on vacation and they called me 3 times to pick up open time.

I got in a big tiff with screw scheduling about being junior manned after having been extended the last FOUR trips I have had. I mean, three days off in 20 is a bit ridiculous.
I am all for being a team player. I am willing to go the extra mile when a plane breaks at an outstation or there is a hurricane, but having all of us work 25 days a month is just stupid.

You want it to happen? Its pretty easy to do.
Put a pay scale in place for those aircraft that is cheaper than the regional feeders currently have.
Yeah, it would suck. But better to suck at a 'real' airline, than suck at a regional for 5-10 years(or more!), then start all over again. At least you'd get better pass benefits!

Come hang out at our crew room and see new mugs every week on IOE. My trip this week had three different FNG's on their pre-IOE observation rides. We may be owned by Pinnacle but we get better hotels and new hires too. Seems like the biological kids are getting treated like the red-headed stepchildren! Overworked and bitten up by bed bugs.

I had a UAL guy tell me once "the most valuable thing you can put on a resume is that you had a recent 'pap smear.' " This was as we discussed a 500tt young lady who recently obtained a job flying a mid cabin.
