With a combined fleet of 968 airframes, Skywest would be easily the largest fleet in the world. (evil laughter)

To preserve their non-union pilot group status, they won't merge with what's available.
Most likely, they will buy the assets from a disolved Comair or Mesa... pick and choose the right pilots based upon personality from each group.

If this post doesn't make somebody angry, I'll be shocked.

They will join in and form a three way with CAL and UAL.

I was angry, but I have come to realize that that is the way it is. As a pilot you are not hired on your abilities as a pilot, but on countenance, personality, and minority group. I would also say that, Skywest has something to be desired in that aspect.
