Any ideas or predictions on this contract? CA and FO payrates? Min days off? Jet vs Prop pay? 70 seat 50 seat and 34 seat pay differences? Any thoughts appreciated.

Any speculation at this point is just that, speculation. It is too early to even guess what the goals will be. I can only assume it can not be less than what Mesaba already has and some of the few positives Pinnacle

It's going to be a LONG time before the three MECs of Pinnacle, Mesaba, and Colgan get a contract for all of us. Really people!!! I know I have a tendency to be negative;), but this is blatant reality. Pinnacle Corp is run by a buncha southern hicks, who think Memphassss is the bomb. If they could have slaves driving planes, they would:eek:

"southern hicks" is that really necessary?

Perhaps..... or perhaps those "hicks" want to tidy things up so they can get new service contracts. I know they have been d*cking the PNCL folks for a very looong time, but they appear to be eager to get a contact with the Colgan pilot group. Maybe they have some business that is in jeopardy while there is no pilot contract. Maybe, just maybe, we can use that to our advantage and repay the PNCL folks who paid for the Qs by leveraging their need a TP contract to get ALL of us a good deal.

...OR we will have the right to return to our own negotiations.

Do we have any more leverage just because we pulled a "45 day goal" number out of our ass? No.

How about this for a flight bag sticker: Contract by 2020 (We Hope)

Relax folks...nothing new to see here...

We thought that a while back with the 9E contract, too. They seemed REALLY motivated, so it must be that United flying, right? When it came down to the big items, they still refused to budge, and we're still right where we were then: contractless.

Since management has proven so competent and trustworthy in the past, when the 45 days have come and gone, are there any Mesaba guys that can post highlights of your contract since it looks like that will survive for the Colgan/Mesaba combination? Work rules, duty regs, bidding, scheduling, sick time, guarantees, vacation etc.

Thanks!

For our sake at XJ I really hope that we get something better than the XJ contract. I'm not saying it's bad, but it's never good to go into negotiations having the best contract of the three. There are things in our contract from bankrupcy that I think a lot of guys would like to see get tossed.

Some highlights:

Basic FAA stuff +

PBS sucks but we have tons of parameters...usually top 15 guys get what they want everyone else gets 11-13 days off and minimal awarded parameters, FO lines are built of Captain lines so FO's can put in preferences to fly or not fly with certain Captains

no more than 4 day trips for line holders, on reserve can get 5 day trips

1 day off in a rolling 7

min days off 11 but can be junior manned to 10

junior man = premium paycan't be junior manned more than 2 times a month or 6 times in a calendar year

min day = 4 hours of pay

deadhead paid to 50%

Block or Credit, whichever is greater gets paid

75 hour garuntee

Cancellation paid to 100%

Longer than a 4.5 hour break during flights scheduling must give you a day room

Uniform allowance I think this year from snapbacks goes to $250ish a year

Profit Sharing

Per Diem is around 1.55

Original trip pay, so if your original trip had more credit or block than the one you were switched to than you get paid for whichever one is greater, even if you sit at home while someone is doing OE on your trip

Reserve is 14 hours duty except P3
P1-P2-P3
P1 AM usually 5AM-7PM
P2 PM usually 10AM-Midnight
P3 covers CDO's

Ready Reserve is 8 hours with Per Diem per hour

AM RR 5:30AM - 1:30PM
PM RR 1:30PM - 9:30PM

Callout for reserve is 1.5 hours before report

Report for all flying is:
1 hour in base
30 minutes at Outstations
45 in International

Vacation:
1 week = 7 days counts as part of your days off on PBS but can't go lower than 13 or 14 days off i believe

1 year of service = 1 week off
2 years of service = 2 weeks off
5 years of service = 3 weeks off
10 years of service = 4 weeks off

bid for vacation at beginning of year but can bid throughout the year to change

can change 1 week of vacation (7 days) to 5 days of Personal Vacation Days that can be used when ever with the approval of crew planning

we accrue sick leave credit at the rate of 2.5 hours for each month of active service

There is alot more but these are just some of the basics....may be a few minor errors so fellow XJ'ers help me out
