Default Lynx Q 400 in SDF?

Just curious if anyone knows why there are 3 Lynx Q 400s parked in SDF?

Last time I went past them the engines had been stripped out. looks like after Republic bought Frontier they didn't need these anymore.

There are 5 of them for sale (as a group) on the internet. Don't know if these are part of that sale.

There were 5 last time I was there. They were some of the first taken out of service and the engines were leased back to the manufacturer.

Pretty sad seeing those mega-whackers sans engines just wasting away in the Louisville summer when they could be out making revenue for someone...

Don't know the current number but, they want three Q400s on the Republic certificate starting this September to be operated until April, for ASE, DRO, COS and possibly one other destination. There are 11 Q400s, if there are 5 in SDF then I would assume 6 would still be in Denver with one or more of those being used as spares.

Any Lynxs guys left on property? Or are they going to be doing that ASE flying with Republic guys? I feel for all the Lynxs guys its been a rough ride. I have a feeling when they start the ASE runs this Sep. Republic will see how much of an asset the Q400 can be.
